Pages 8 and 9 and book reviews from Liv

The Unfinished Angel is by Sharon Creech. The uNifinished Angel is about an angel who lives in a quiet town. The angel lives in a quiet town. The angel lives in a big tower overlooking everything. BUt a family moves int to the Angels house. The people make the angel think that it is unfinished, but a little girls shows him important lesson.

This book is funny. 1 of the times it was funny was when Zolac (The little girl) tells the anfel about when her brother was born. He almost died, but an angel saved him. The funny part was when they started talking aout angel are not pigeons. Because tha's what Zola said "It looked like Angels are not piegeons!".

Among The Hidden is by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Luke Garner is a third child. By the government's law, he shouldn't have been born. He's been hiding all his life, except for when he was in the woods. But then diaster, the woods are cur down and people move in. But who is that face inside the window while everyone is gone?

The book is adventurous. For example : Luke was never supposed to go outside, But in order to go find who the mysterious face is, he has to. Like see many different places he's never seen just because he went outside. "Out the kitchen and then-out the back door."

page 5 and 6

Here are the next two pages in Luke's graphic novel:

Liv had Ballet Camp today, but here is her review from Monday.
Flygirl is by Sherrie L. Smith. Ida May Jones always wanted to fly from the moment her daddy took her in the sky. She sees a chance to when her brother Thomas goes to war. That chance is the WASP. The WASP is for women who want to help. They deliver bombs and the planes that they need for the war. Ida is colored but she's light enough that she can get into WASP. She stays there until her mama comes and tells her something is very, very wrong.
This book is sad. As an example: "I was 16, Thomas was 19. That day Papa was working at the field, we don't know what happened. The tractor flipped on Papa and Thomas ran 3 miles and back to get the doctor. But when they came, it was too late. The last words Papa said was 'Look at him fly". I would recommend this to people who are interested in the war and women's rights.

What about last week? We went on vacation! We had a great time in Columbus. Luke had lots of positive things to say about his video game camp and we enjoyed visiting Columbus with the McMasters and cousins Sara and Olivia and even sneaking up to Cleveland to hang out with the Baylor gals!

Two For One

We went to the Village last night for the fireworks, so I didn't get a chance to post Olivia's review.

Here is yesterday's and today's

The Unauthorized Autobiography of Lemony Snicket

The Unauthorized Autobiography of Lemony Snicket is by Unknown. It is about the V.F.D., Beatrice, and coded messags. Part of it is the anwer to: Who is Lemony Snicket? The book has 13 sections. The sections have photos, letters, and one even has a secret meeting!

This book wasn't a story. It was kind of like the books where they tie loose threads. In this book, I learned who Beatric is. I also learned the V.F.D. code. "Disguise Training: Required Materials: Face". I thought that was funny.
I would recommend this book to people who like the series A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel
Artemis Fowl was written by Eoin Colfer and Andrew Donkin. It was illustrated by Giovanni Rigano and Paolo Lamanna. Artemis Fowl is about a boy who has been searching for the peopl (fairies, dwarves, elves) all his lif (which is quite short, even though he's a mastermins at 12). Finnally he finds a fairy, and to get her book, (it's kinda like their Bible). He gives her a antidote to some disease she has. Using that, he captures a fairy. And holds he for ranso,. The fairy's trie to rescue her, but Artmeis will only give her up for one thing.
Some of the reasons that Artemis Fowl The Graphic Novel is better than regular Artemis Fowl is because: One you can actually see Artemis and Foaly. Two, it's more comical. Three, you can see the inventions Foaly has. And Four: it's Awesome.
I recommend this book to people who like fairies, goblins, etc.

Graphic Novel page 2

It reads:
panel 1: The next new moon...... "Jimma better be in position!"
panel 2: And then....
panel 5: "You're lucky I won't kill you"

I don't know if it will work for you, but when I click on the picture, it enlarges it.

Olivia's Book Review

The Tales of Beetle The Bard is by J. K. Rowling. It has several short stories in it. Some of the stories are "The Warlock's Hairy Heart", "The Three Brothers", and "The Fountain of Fair Fortune". My favorite story is "The Three Brothers".

One of the reasons that I liked this book was because it has a variety. In "The Warlock's Hairy Heart", it is about an evil wizard. In "Babbity Rabbity and Her Cackling Stump", a foolish king tries to kill all the wizards. In "The Three Brothers", the three brothers get gifts from death because they twarted death. The youngest brother who was the wisest, asked death for something so death couldn't follow him. "And death, most unwillingly, handed his own cloak of invisitbility".

I would recommend this book to people who like Harry Potter.
